Rebio Diaz Cardona

Rebio Diaz Cardona is Associate Professor of Psychology at LaGuardia Community College and affiliate member of the doctoral program in Critical Social-Personality and Environmental Psychology at the Graduate Center. His work explores the materiality and spatiality of writing in the urban environment, recasting written language as a form of spatial production, seen through the lens of spatial justice. His current project looks at collaborative strategies, grassroots placemaking, and right-to-the-city activism in the context of disaster capitalism and coloniality in Puerto Rico and its diaspora. Other interests include the shifting ontologies and epistemologies of the urban in the digital age, the politics of language difference, environmental-psychological dimensions of Latinidad, and the place of environmental psychology within psychology and the social sciences.
